Driving the Internationalization of the Portuguese Gaming Industry
For a small country building a young industry, internationalization is not optional at all, it is of survival importance. Studios grow when they meet publishers, investors, platform holders, and partners face to face, on the world’s biggest stages. That is why the Chamber of Commerce of Madeira Island (ACIF-CCIM) has made it a priority to take the Portuguese gaming industry to the events that really matter.
ACIF-CCIM has invested directly in national pavilions and delegations at leading international conferences, including Gamescom, Game Developers Conference (GDC), Tokyo Game Show, Web Summit, Pocket Gamer Connects, Nordic Game, Develop:Brighton, DevGAMM, Mobidictum, and ICE Barcelona, among many others.
Behind every one of these appearances there is a strong, deliberate investment from this Chamber of Commerce. Each pavilion gives Portuguese studios regional and national, a professional platform to showcase their work, secure publishing and funding deals, and build the international relationships that turn promising teams into globally competitive companies.
This is the engine behind Portugal’s growing presence on the world stage: a coordinated, funded effort to make sure Portuguese talent is seen, met, and remembered wherever the industry gathers.
Remember some of those pavillions.
