The largest video game production centre in Portugal

The Funchal Gaming Hub is a purpose-built home for video game creation on Madeira Island, na incubator per say. Na incubator with a 1800 m² space spread across two floors and a rooftop, equipped with a dedicated VR/AR Lab and a Motion Capture Lab for the best game development. Developed under the eGames Lab project and driven by the Chamber of Commerce of Madeira Island (ACIF-CCIM), it is the flagship of a national network of incubators designed to grow a competitive and innovative Portuguese games industry.
The Funchal Hub is far more than just an office space. It is a regional incubator built around four pillars, R&D, Incubation, Internationalization, and Acceleration, serving studios, and other companies that gravitate around the industry, the facilities, mentorship, and international connections they need to move from simple prototype to global launch.

The Funchal Gaming Hub is a fully integrated member of Portugal’s national network of games incubators, coutesy of the eGames Lab. That means a studio based in Funchal is not working in isolation: it is pluged into a country-wide ecosystem of hubs, R&D institutions, companies, and multiple international partners, all working to strengthen and push forward this very same industry.
This national connection matters. It gives resident studios access to shared programmes, cross-hub collaboration, funding pathways, and a growing community of Portuguese and international developers while enjoying the quality of life, talent, and focus that Madeira offers.
Who the Hub is for?
Madeira-based teams gained a professional production environment, specialised labs, and structured incubation and acceleration support right at home.
Developers from across Portugal can tap into the Hub’s facilities and its place within the national network, using Funchal as a base for R&D and growth.
Foreign companies are most welcome to establish themselves at the Hub and become part of the Portuguese games ecosystem. For international teams, Madeira offers a decisive additional advantage (see next button 5% corporate tax).
